KWACCIMA AND INDONESIA STRENGTHEN TRADE TIES AT 2026 BUSINESS FORUM IN KWARA.

The Kwara Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (KWACCIMA) and Indonesia have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral trade and investment relations at the Indonesia Business Forum (IBF) 2026, held at the Innovation Hub in Ilorin, Kwara State.

The forum, organised by the Indonesian Trade Promotion Center in partnership with Triple Pillar Consulting Limited and KWACCIMA, brought together government officials, business leaders and private sector stakeholders to explore investment opportunities in agro-processing, solid minerals, manufacturing and technology transfer.

In his welcome address, the Chairman of Triple Pillar Consulting Limited Ambassador Isiaka Abdulquadir Iman said the forum was designed to deepen economic cooperation between Nigeria and Indonesia. He described Indonesia, a G20 member and one of the world’s 20 largest economies, as a strategic partner for Nigeria’s economic growth.

Speaking at the event, the President of KWACCIMA, Engr. Abu Salami, FNSE, called for the forum to deliver concrete business outcomes. He said Kwara State offers investors access to Nigeria’s over 220 million commercial market population and the ECOWAS market of more than 400 million in Kwara State

According to him, Indonesia brings technology, capital and strong Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) standards, while Kwara provides over 360,000 hectares of arable land, abundant solid minerals including iron ore, granite, dolomite and limestone, as well as a skilled workforce.

He identified cassava, soybean, maize, fortified starch and animal feed as key export products with strong market potential in the United States, Turkey and Asia.

Engr. Salami assured prospective investors of KWACCIMA’s commitment to providing commercial partnerships, market access and investment support to ensure sustainable business growth.

Indonesian delegate Mr. Arif Indrakusnadi commended the efforts of Triple Pillar Consulting Limited, the Kwara State Government, NACCIMA and KWACCIMA in promoting stronger economic cooperation. He revealed that trade between Nigeria and Indonesia was valued at 3.47 billion US dollars in 2024 and 3.2 billion US dollars in 2025, expressing optimism that the partnership would continue to expand.

Participants were also encouraged to register for the Trade Expo 2026, scheduled for October 14 to 18 in Jakarta, where Nigerian businesses will have the opportunity to connect with international buyers and explore new export markets.

Representing the Governor of Kwara State, Mallam Nasir Iman reaffirmed the state’s commitment to creating a business-friendly environment, stressing that Kwara remains open to local and foreign investment.

Also speaking, Hon. Dr. Fatima Mariam Imam, representing the First Lady of Kwara State, highlighted investment opportunities in agriculture, sugar production, textile manufacturing, garri processing and groundnut processing.

Goodwill messages were delivered by Alhaji Yahaya Ismaila, First Deputy President of the Niger Chamber of Commerce and Mr. Banji Ojo of the Ogbomoso Chamber of Commerce, who emphasised the importance of youth employment, agro-industrial development and the vast opportunities in cashew production.

The organisers also acknowledged the support of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) in the successful hosting of the forum.

The event concluded with renewed calls for stronger public-private partnerships to transform investment opportunities into sustainable trade, industrial growth and economic development through increased production and agro-industrialisation.
