Unknown gunmen have reportedly abducted the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture at Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), Professor S. A. Okunsebor.
According to available information the exact circumstances surrounding the abduction remain unclear. However, sources disclosed that the professor was believed to have been kidnapped on Tuesday night 14th of July 2026 at his residence in Sabon Pegi, Shabu, along the Lafia–Akwanga Expressway in Nasarawa State.
The incident has generated concern among members of the university community and stakeholders in the agricultural and fisheries sector with many calling for swift action to secure his safe release.
Confirming the development, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Nasarawa State Police Command, SP Nansel Ramhan, stated that the command is aware of the incident and has commenced an investigation.
“The command has launched an investigation in that regard,” the police spokesperson said.
As of the time of filing this report no group has claimed responsibility for the abduction and the whereabouts of Professor Okunsebor remain unknown.
Security agencies have urged members of the public to remain calm and provide any useful information that could assist ongoing investigations.
