ZAKAT AND SADAQAT FOUNDATION HIGHLIGHTS BLESSINGS OF FIRST TEN DAYS OF ZUL HIJJAH ON AGRIPRENEUR INSIGHTS TV.

A religious enlightenment programme on Agripreneur Insights TV, tagged Zakat and Sadaqat Foundation half hour, once again provided spiritual guidance to Muslim faithful as it aired its weekly Friday program focusing on the Blessings of the First Ten Days of Zul Hijjah (the 12th month of islamic calendar).

The programme host, Surajudeen Adisa, opened the session by warmly greeting viewers watching from different locations and introducing the topic of discussion for the day.

Adisa thereafter welcomed the guest speaker, Engr. Muhammed Basiru Olalekan, who is the Chief Imam of Ayedoja Central Mosque Osere and the State Coordinator of Zakat and Sadaqat Foundation in Kwara State.

Speaking during the programme, Engr. Muhammed Basiru explained the importance of the Islamic calendar, noting that the Islamic lunar calendar consists of 12 months, with months having either 29 or 30 days depending on the sighting of the moon.

He listed the months in the Islamic calendar as Muharram, Safar, Rabi’ul Awwal, Rabi’ul Thani, Jumada Al-Awwal, Jumada Al-Thani, Rajab, Sha’aban, Ramadan, Shawwal, Dhul Qa’dah and Dhul Hijjah.

The Islamic cleric emphasised that the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah remain among the most sacred periods in Islam describing them as days filled with mercy, forgiveness and abundant rewards from Allah.
According to him, Muslims are encouraged to increase acts of worship during the period through prayers, fasting, charity, remembrance of Allah, recitation of the Holy Qur’an and helping the less privileged.

He further highlighted some of the virtues attached to the ten days stating that good deeds performed during the period are highly rewarded while fasting especially on the Day of Arafah carries immense spiritual benefits.

Engr. Muhammed Basiru also encouraged Muslims to uphold the principles of Zakat and Sadaqat by extending kindness and support to those in need especially during the sacred season.
The programme ended with prayers for peace, unity and prosperity in Nigeria and among the Muslim Ummah.
