WACOT, EDO RENEW FERTILISER PRODUCTION PARTNERSHIP TO SUPPORT FARMERS.

WACOT Limited and the Edo State Government have renewed their fertiliser production partnership to sustain domestic manufacturing and improve farmers’ access to crop-specific fertiliser blends.

The agreement covers the Edo State Fertiliser and Chemical Company Limited, where WACOT has operated under the partnership since 2017, producing specialised fertiliser blends tailored to different soil conditions and crop requirements.

The Director of Corporate Affairs at Tropical General Investments Group, Sadiq Kassim, said the facility played a strategic role in Nigeria’s fertiliser industry, with the capacity to produce customised blends for farmers in the South-South and North-East regions.

He noted that security challenges in the North-East had made the establishment of fertiliser production facilities in the region difficult, highlighting the importance of sustaining existing domestic production capacity.

WACOT’s Managing Director, Naveen Chaurasia, said the partnership demonstrated how collaboration between government and private businesses could revive dormant industrial assets and advance agricultural development.

The Edo State Commissioner for Business, Trade and Investment, Omoh Anabor, said the renewed agreement would promote industrial growth, attract investment and create jobs while improving farmers’ access to essential agricultural inputs.

WACOT reaffirmed its commitment to working with the state government and industry stakeholders to sustain local fertiliser production and support farmers.
