PAN Kwara Commissions Veterinary Services Shop to Support Poultry Farmers in Ilorin

The Poultry Association of Nigeria (PAN) Kwara State Chapter, has commissioned a veterinary services shop in Ilorin as part of efforts to support livestock and poultry farmers across the state.

The veterinary services outlet, known as MARAPAN Veterinary Services, was officially commissioned on Saturday, May 23rd 2026, in Ilorin Kwara State.

Speaking during the commissioning, the Chairman of PAN Kwara State Chapter, Engr. Sanusi Abdulwaheed Kolapo, said the initiative was established to assist livestock farmers particularly poultry farmers in accessing quality veterinary products and services at affordable prices.

According to him, the veterinary shop was created to address major challenges affecting poultry farmers including vaccine failures, the high cost of veterinary drugs and other poultry-related issues confronting farmers in the Ilorin metropolis and beyond.

Engr. Kolapo explained that the association has employed the services of a veterinary doctor who will attend to poultry farmers’ health concerns and provide professional guidance at the pharmacy to ensure better poultry management and productivity.

He further disclosed that PAN Kwara State Chapter has also been supporting poultry farmers in sourcing quality day-old chicks directly from hatcheries at reduced prices, a move aimed at lowering production costs and improving access to quality inputs for poultry businesses in the state.

The PAN chairman noted that the veterinary services shop was established through contributions from members of the association’s cooperative society, known as Maraba Progressive Cooperative, from which the veterinary outlet derived its name, MARAPAN Veterinary Services.

He called on members of PAN Kwara State Chapter and poultry farmers across the state to patronize the veterinary services shop to ensure its sustainability and continued support for poultry production in Kwara State.

The initiative is expected to strengthen veterinary support services for poultry farmers while promoting healthier flock management and improved productivity within the poultry value chain in the state.
