
The Fisheries Society of Nigeria (FISON) has announced that manuscript submission is still ongoing for its 41st Annual Conference and Annual General Meeting (AGM), scheduled to hold in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The conference is expected to bring together researchers, academics, professionals and stakeholders in the fisheries and aquaculture sector from across the country to discuss new innovations, sustainable practices and emerging opportunities in the industry.
According to the organisers, the venue for the event is the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta, while activities for the conference are expected to run daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
FISON urged members, particularly researchers, academics, professionals and industry stakeholders, to take advantage of the opportunity by submitting their manuscripts for presentation during the conference. The society noted that submitted manuscripts must not exceed four pages.
The Local Organising Committee Chairman, Prof. F.I. Adeosun, stated that the conference would provide an avenue for experts and stakeholders to exchange ideas and showcase research findings capable of advancing the fisheries and aquaculture industry in Nigeria.
Also speaking, the Local Organising Secretary, Dr Sherifat I. Adegbesan, encouraged interested participants to submit their manuscripts promptly and participate actively in the conference activities.
The Conference Co-ordinator, Dr Olalekan R. Oguntade, reaffirmed the commitment of the organisers towards hosting a successful and impactful conference that would promote research, innovation and professional collaboration within the sector.
FISON further stressed the importance of active participation from experts and stakeholders, adding that quality research contributions would help promote innovation, food security, economic growth and sustainable fisheries development in the country.
The society encouraged interested participants to complete and submit their manuscripts before the deadline, reaffirming its commitment to promoting scientific research and professional collaboration within the fisheries industry.
