AgriGens Media has joined fisheries professionals, stakeholders and enthusiasts across Nigeria in celebrating the Fisheries Society of Nigeria (FISON) on the occasion of its 50th anniversary.
In a congratulatory message released by the Chief Executive Officer of AgriGens Media Alhaji Bashir Abdulrasaq Owolabi commended FISON for its five decades of commitment to the advancement of fisheries science, aquaculture development and sustainable fisheries management in Nigeria.

Alhaji Bashir Abdulrasaq Owolabi stated that Fison has sustained collaboration among fisheries professionals, government institutions, private-sector players and development partners remains essential to unlocking the full potential of Nigeria’s aquatic resources.
The organisation expressed optimism that FISON would continue to build on its achievements by championing sustainable fisheries practices, promoting modern aquaculture technologies and supporting policies that improve the livelihoods of fish farmers and fishing communities.
