As Africa seeks to strengthen its food systems and reduce vulnerability to global disruptions, the need to build resilient agricultural value chains capable of withstanding economic, climate and market shocks will take centre stage at Agriculture Summit Africa 2026.
The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Ayo Sotinrin, is expected to lead a strategic conversation on “Food Sovereignty and Strategic Resilience: How Africa Can Build Enduring Resilience in a Dynamic Environment.”
The session will examine the measures required to enable African countries build food systems that can withstand shocks while continuing to produce, trade and provide adequate food for a rapidly growing population.
As the continent works towards greater food sovereignty, stakeholders are increasingly focusing on strengthening resilience across agriculture, finance, markets and value chains.
The discussion is expected to highlight the importance of developing agricultural systems that are less vulnerable to external disruptions and better equipped to respond to changing economic, environmental and market conditions.
Beyond food production, strengthening Africa’s food systems will require improved access to finance, efficient markets, stronger value chains and policies capable of supporting farmers, agribusinesses and other actors across the agricultural sector.
The summit will therefore provide an opportunity for policymakers, investors, agricultural stakeholders and other industry leaders to exchange ideas on practical approaches to strengthening Africa’s capacity to produce food sustainably and maintain reliable food supplies.
Agriculture Summit Africa 2026 is scheduled to hold on September 15, 2026, at Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, bringing together stakeholders to deliberate on issues shaping the continent’s agricultural future.
