NADF, GROWTECH WEST AFRICA PARTNER TO BOOST AGRICULTURAL INVESTMENT, FOOD SECURITY.

The National Agricultural Development Fund (NADF) has partnered with Growtech West Africa to promote agricultural investment, technology adoption and food security in Nigeria.

The partnership was announced ahead of the inaugural Growtech West Africa exhibition, scheduled to hold in Lagos from January 26th to 28th, 2027.

The collaboration is expected to connect Nigerian agribusinesses with international technology providers, investors and industry experts to enhance productivity and strengthen agricultural value chains.

Established by the Federal Government under the NADF Act 2022, the Fund aims to address financing gaps in the agricultural sector while supporting innovation, research, capacity building and the adoption of modern farming practices.

The Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of NADF, Mohammed Ibrahim, said collaboration among financial institutions, technology providers and agricultural enterprises was crucial to transforming the sector.

“Nigeria’s agricultural transformation requires an ecosystem where finance, technology, expertise, and enterprise can work together to create greater value. Events such as Growtech West Africa can help connect Nigerian businesses and agricultural enterprises with technologies, knowledge, and international expertise that can improve productivity, strengthen value chains, and create new economic opportunities,” Ibrahim said.

He said NADF was pleased to support the exhibition as part of its efforts to build partnerships that expand opportunities for agricultural businesses and strengthen Nigeria’s food system.

The partnership comes amid growing efforts by agricultural enterprises to improve production methods and operational efficiency across irrigation, mechanization, protected agriculture, livestock, aquaculture and food processing.

Alan Kelly, Commercial and Strategy Director at InD Group, said Nigeria’s market size, agricultural diversity and influence across West Africa made it a strategic destination for the exhibition.

“Nigeria is an important market for Growtech because of its scale, its agricultural diversity, and its influence across the wider West African region. The launch of Growtech West Africa reflects our confidence in the market and the opportunities we see across its agricultural value chains,” Kelly said.

Engin Er, Growtech Portfolio Exhibition Director, described West Africa as a strategic expansion destination for the exhibition, citing the region’s agricultural potential and ongoing transformation.

The inaugural exhibition will feature products and services covering seeds and seedlings, plant nutrition and protection, irrigation systems, greenhouse technologies, agricultural machinery, livestock and poultry, aquaculture, fisheries and food processing.

It will also host the Food Security and Sustainability Conference, bringing together policymakers, investors, agribusiness executives, researchers and technology providers to discuss agricultural financing, productivity, technology adoption and climate resilience, with the aim of identifying opportunities to strengthen food systems and expand investment across the sector.
