The Federal Ministry of Livestock Development has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting transparency, accountability and efficient service delivery through plans to establish a Ministerial SERVICOM Unit and develop a Service Charter aimed at improving citizens access to quality public services.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the Deputy Director of Information and Public Relations, Henrietta Okokon, and made available to Agronigeria on Wednesday.
According to the statement, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Dr. Chinyere Ijeoma Akujobi, gave the assurance on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, while receiving a delegation from SERVICOM led by the Acting National Coordinator, Mrs. Helen Lawal, at the ministry’s headquarters in Abuja.
Dr. Akujobi stated that the establishment of the Ministerial SERVICOM Unit would help institutionalise a culture of excellence, responsiveness and accountability in the ministry’s operations while ensuring that services are delivered promptly and effectively to stakeholders.
She noted that the proposed Service Charter would clearly outline the ministry’s responsibilities, service standards and the expectations of citizens thereby strengthening public confidence and enhancing transparency.
The Permanent Secretary emphasized that the Ministry of Livestock Development remains committed to adopting reforms that will improve efficiency and align its operations with the Federal Government’s agenda for better public service delivery.
Speaking during the visit, Mrs. Helen Lawal underscored the importance of SERVICOM in promoting citizen-centred governance and ensuring that government institutions remain responsive to the needs of the public.
She assured the ministry of SERVICOM’s continued support in establishing the unit and developing mechanisms that would enhance accountability and service quality.
The initiative is expected to strengthen institutional performance within the Ministry of Livestock Development and ensure that stakeholders across the livestock sector receive more efficient and transparent services.
