Lagos State Government Unveils ₦200 Million for 2026 Lagos Agrithon ProgrammeThe Lagos State Government has announced a ₦200 million funding package for the 2026 edition of the Lagos Agrithon Programme reaffirming its commitment to fostering innovation, entrepreneurship and sustainable growth within the agricultural sector.
Speaking at the Agrinnovation Hangout 8.0, the Lagos State Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Systems Mrs Abisola Olusanya highlighted the remarkable achievements and success stories recorded through previous editions of the Lagos Agrithon initiative. According to the Commissioner, the programme has become a transformative platform for empowering agritech startups, young entrepreneurs and innovative businesses across the agriculture and food systems value chain.
She noted that the third edition tagged “Lagos Agrithon 3.0” is designed to further accelerate the development of innovative solutions capable of addressing critical challenges in food production, processing, distribution and sustainability.
“The 2026 Lagos Agrithon is about transforming the future of agriculture and food systems through strategic investments and support for innovative ideas. We are creating opportunities that will drive food security, job creation and economic growth in Lagos State and beyond,” she stated.
Mrs Abisola Olusanya emphasized that the initiative aligns with the state government’s vision of building a resilient and technology-driven agricultural ecosystem capable of meeting the demands of a rapidly growing population.
Beneficiaries of previous editions shared inspiring stories of business growth, increased market access and enhanced operational capacity resulting from the support received through the programme. These success stories, according to the Commissioner, demonstrate the positive impact of government-backed innovation in transforming agribusinesses.
Applications for Lagos Agrithon 3.0 are now open with interested innovators, startups and agribusiness entrepreneurs encouraged to submit their entries and compete for funding opportunities under the ₦200 million initiative.
