The Bank of Agriculture (BOA) has reached more than 150 households across Lagos and Kaduna states with essential food supplies as part of activities commemorating World Food Day 2026.
The outreach was conducted in partnership with Inspire World International Foundation and the Lagos Food Bank Initiative to provide food assistance to families and communities while raising awareness of the importance of food security.
The initiative reflects BOA’s commitment to addressing food insecurity and supporting vulnerable households, extending its role beyond agricultural financing to include community-focused interventions that respond to immediate food needs.
Through the distribution of essential food supplies, the bank and its partners sought to provide practical support to families while highlighting the importance of collective action in tackling food insecurity.
The outreach also underscores the connection between agricultural development and household food security, recognising that strengthening food production must go hand in hand with ensuring that families can access adequate food.
World Food Day provides an opportunity for governments, financial institutions, development organisations, businesses and communities to renew their commitment to building resilient food systems and improving access to safe and nutritious food.
BOA’s collaboration with Inspire World International Foundation and the Lagos Food Bank Initiative demonstrates the importance of partnerships in extending assistance to communities and responding to food-related challenges.
The bank reaffirmed its commitment to supporting farmers, strengthening agricultural value chains and contributing to initiatives that improve food security and livelihoods across Nigeria.
The World Food Day outreach serves as a reminder that the fight against hunger requires sustained efforts from all stakeholders, combining increased agricultural production with practical interventions that help families meet their daily food needs.
