BOA FINANCING HELPS RETIRED KADUNA FARMER BUILD SUCCESSFUL AGRIBUSINESS

Retirement has marked the beginning of a new chapter for Mr. Ibrahim Garba, who has ventured into agriculture with financing support from the Bank of Agriculture (BOA), establishing a farm in Kaduna State and recording improved yields.

Garba’s experience is featured in the BOA Agribusiness Impact Documentary Series, an initiative showcasing the experiences of farmers and agribusiness owners across Nigeria and highlighting how access to agricultural finance can support business growth and productivity.

Following his retirement, Garba turned to farming as a new opportunity to remain productive and invest in an enterprise with the potential for growth. With financial support from BOA, he was able to establish his farm and begin building his agricultural venture.

Today, he is recording higher yields and seeing the results of his investment in agriculture, demonstrating how access to finance can help individuals translate their plans into productive business activities.

His story also highlights the opportunities available in agriculture for retirees and other aspiring agripreneurs seeking to establish sustainable livelihoods and contribute to food production.

The BOA Agribusiness Impact Documentary Series documents these experiences to provide insight into the people behind agricultural enterprises and the role financing plays in helping farmers establish, expand and improve their businesses.

For Garba, farming represents a fresh beginning built on investment, hard work and the opportunities offered by the agricultural sector. For the Bank of Agriculture, his experience illustrates the role of agricultural financing in supporting farmers and strengthening Nigeria’s agricultural value chain.

Through initiatives such as the documentary series, BOA continues to showcase the experiences of its beneficiaries and highlight the importance of accessible financing in promoting agricultural productivity, enterprise development and food security.
