The Bank of Agriculture (BOA) has partnered with the All-Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) to support eligible farmers with access to input financing for dry-season farming under the Renewed Hope Smallholder Support and Value Chain Fund.
The initiative is aimed at helping farmers sustain production during the dry season by improving access to the inputs required for continued agricultural activities.
The partnership followed a recent meeting between the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Bank of Agriculture, Ayo Sotinrin, and the President of AFAN, Hon. Muhammed Magaji, alongside members of his team.
Under the collaboration, BOA and AFAN will work together to identify farmers preparing for the dry season and connect eligible beneficiaries with the financing needed to support their production.
AFAN’s extensive farmer network will also play a role in identifying credible farmers and suitable Farmer Aggregation Companies (FACs) that can help coordinate the allocation and deployment of approved agricultural inputs.
The collaboration is expected to strengthen the link between farmers and agricultural financing while improving the coordination and delivery of inputs to eligible smallholder farmers.
By supporting farmers beyond the traditional rainy-season production cycle, the initiative seeks to help maintain agricultural output, strengthen farmers productivity and contribute to a more consistent food supply.
The Bank of Agriculture and AFAN are expected to continue working together to reach more farmers and support sustained agricultural production throughout the dry season.
